Ubuntu 10.10 installation guide for Beagleboard Rev C4

Post by admin on Fri Feb 11, 2011 9:19 am

This is a simple, fun tutorial.
    Download a build.
    Ubuntu 10.10

    Ubuntu 10.04.2

    Ubuntu 11.04 - Natty

    Once downloaded:

    Linux Only:

    Install 7zip
    sudo apt-get install p7zip-full

    Then:

    7za x ubuntu-10.04.2-r0-minimal-armel.tar.7z
    tar xf ubuntu-10.04.2-r0-minimal-armel.tar
    cd ubuntu-10.04.2-r0-minimal-armel

Quick Install script for Beagle Bx, C2/C3/C4, xM Ax, xM B

    sudo ./setup_sdcard.sh --mmc /dev/sdX --uboot beagle --swap_file 50

sdX - X is to be replaced by your SD card drive letter. Generally SDB..

Also, what you should do to make things quicker.
Open Gparted and remove the partitions off the SD card and leave it RAW/Unformatted.
